This song is about the food that goes along with any good celebration. Quimbombó is the Spanish word for okra, a type of vegetable used to make stews in Louisiana, Cuba and Africa. PALO! plays Afro-Cuban dance music. Its lead singer, Leslie Cartaya, is originally from Cuba. In Cuba, you know a house party is going to be huge when they roast a pig and serve a spicy blend of quimbombó, garlic and yucca, a root similar to a potato.
